I have been teaching kids, teens and adults how to draw and paint for the past 12 years and thrilled to be teaching in the City of San Fernando. I have sent many students to prestigious art schools across the country or simply given them the courage to learn something that they never thought possible.
My own art education started at a young age when I would regularly visit the Detroit Institute of Arts on the weekends with my family. There I was exposed to some of the greatest masterpieces in the world. In college I continued to study art in the History of Art program at the University of Michigan, along with a concentration in Social Anthropology. I was able to learn not about who or what the greatests works are, but how art shapes cultures and society.
Along with my art education and training, I am also deeply passionate about college counseling. As an undegrad I organized many high school visits for students from Michigan and Illinois. Visits that exposed students who might be the first in their families to finish high school and go to college.
Art is a deeply rewarding experience that not only helps a person fulfill their creative side but also develop stronger concentration and problem solving skills. So whether you are looking to be an artist or just learn a new hobby, I will guide you all along they way.
